Job Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated Equipment Installer to handle the onsite deployment of telehealth and ophthalmic systems. This is a travel-heavy role requiring technical proficiency in hardware setup, cabling, and mounting. When not traveling to client sites, the candidate will work remotely, reporting to the IT Department and collaborating closely with the Project Manager to provide status updates and ensure project milestones are met.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Field Installations: Travel to client locations to install ophthalmic equipment and supporting IT hardware, including flat-screen displays, routers, desktops, laptops, and tablets.
  • Infrastructure & Cabling: Run data and video cables through dropped ceilings or fish them through walls; utilize wiring covers where necessary to ensure a professional finish.
  • Mounting & Safety: Securely hang and mount monitors and televisions (up to 32”), ensuring all cabling is neatly bundled and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Project Coordination: While remote, provide frequent and detailed updates to the Project Manager regarding installation progress, site challenges, and completion timelines.
  • IT Department Collaboration: Maintain consistent communication with the IT Department to ensure hardware configurations and network requirements meet company standards.
  • Logistics & Inventory: Unbox equipment and perform onsite inventory audits to verify all components; maintain accurate records of stock levels and equipment distribution.
  • Technical Testing: Perform onsite software configurations and conduct comprehensive equipment testing with IT and clinical staff prior to project sign-off.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a positive, professional attitude with clients and staff, ensuring the workspace is thoroughly cleaned after the job is complete.

Qualifications

  • Technical Background: Experience with CAT 6, data, and video cable installation; knowledge of interconnecting multiple devices to a PC.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to climb ladders, move heavy objects, and work in confined areas (crouching/kneeling) for extended periods.
  • Travel Readiness: Must have a valid Driver’s License and Passport. Ability to travel throughout the U.S. for multiple days at a time (typically Monday–Friday).
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to relay technical information and project status clearly to both the IT Department and Project Managers.
  • Remote Proficiency: Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home-office environment when not in the field.
  • Client Relations: Excellent customer service skills for interacting with clinical and technical personnel.

Preferred Skills
