This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to grow within an evolving organization. 20/20NOW (“Company”) the pioneer and innovator of Ocular Telehealth, recently announced that they are looking to hire an Ophthalmic Telehealth Coordinator. The candidate selected for this position will help to continue to develop and manage a center of excellence for a state-of-the-art ocular telehealth practice with current operations in 33 states.

This role is a key contributor to the Company’s Ocular Telehealth program and supports both current service offerings and implementation of new programs. The Coordinator is responsible for key program elements, maintains service offerings and customer communication materials and facilitates data-driven process improvement action plans.

The Coordinator exercises a high degree of integrity and judgement as well as the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously to support a highly-fast pace professional telehealth services. The Coordinator often works collaboratively and cross-functionally with leaders, doctors, front-line staff and other external key stakeholders. This role is expected to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders through the consistent use of effective communication tactics.

Essential Duties:

  • Directs the duties, priorities, and necessities of various routines to be carried out daily by all professional and support staff, assuring a proper efficient flow of patient exams
  • Lead large group discussions at various levels on program and process improvement topics
  • Provide operational decisions to Company’s clinical staff regarding concerns and/or issues. Escalates and routes as needed to 20/20Now Leadership 
  • Work in conjunction with Company’s  Support Team in evaluation, calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance of diagnostic equipment and IT issues
  • Maintain effective communication with Sign off Doctors regarding chart assessment, image evaluation and refraction questions and customer interaction
  • Work with Director of Professional Services to analyze Remote Refraction Technician’s productivity and coordination of their daily workflow
  • Oversee and enhance Company’s telehealth’s communication materials. Maintain accurate distribution lists and updated content on internal and external facing teams
  • Understanding of ophthalmic instrument technique including refraction, visual field, retinal imaging and slit lamp exam testing
  • Ensures operating procedures, policies, and safety protocols are followed by clinical personnel.
  • Required to formulate and affect new practice standard operating policies
  • Maintain day-to-day teamwork schedule
  • Requires problem solving and time management skills
  • Will provide workflow training for employees to perform the various skills associated with their responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently within job parameters

Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate calmly and diplomatically with customers, co-workers, and senior management team members
  • Keen attention to detail, especially involving checking exam workflow
  • Candidate must have an upbeat, positive personality, is articulate, maintain excellent customer service, and multi-tasking managerial skills
  • Two (2) years of progressive experience applying process improvement and project management skills
  • Minimum of five (5) years of ophthalmic supervisory experience, COT a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Computer literate including experience with EHR and workflow management software
  • Demonstrated interest in quality improvement
  • Ability to work flexible hours including Saturday and on-call when required
  • Previous telemedicine experience is a plus but not required
  • Strong clinical and communications skills
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends and issues in digital health and related topics.
  • Maintain current knowledge about organizational policies and procedures, governance structures, regulatory requirements and applicable applications and technologies
